Energy Void Period Service Terms (“Terms”) - Alto partnership
Void Utilities Automation Terms & Conditions
Alto has partnered with Just Move In (full name Ethical Introductions Ltd) to provide an Energy Void Period Switching Service.
Energy Void Period Switching Service is a Utilities Management Service provided by Just Move In (JMI) relating to switching and management of energy suppliers and/or accounts for any period during which a property is not occupied by a tenant.
By opting in to the Energy Void Period Switching Service, the following clauses apply:
British Gas Voidcare Terms: the Partner or the Landlord who will enter into the energy contract agrees that JMI will appoint British Gas as the energy supplier to the property, and hereby agrees to British Gas's Voidcare Services Terms and Conditions here: https://justmovein.com/bg-voidcare-terms-and-conditions.
Partner has sufficient authority to instruct JMI to undertake the Energy Void Period Switching Service, either directly or on behalf of third parties e.g. in particular landlords for whom the Partner manages a property.
Partner appoints JMI to conclude Energy Void Period contracts either: as a default, in the name of each relevant landlord, in which case Partner shall supply the landlord's full contact and payment details and Partner represents and warrants that Partner is duly authorised by each relevant landlord to enter into such contracts and provide instructions to JMI in their name; or where expressly requested by Partner, in Partner's own name and under Partner's sole responsibility.
In any event, energy contracts shall be between the relevant landlord or Partner (as applicable) and the relevant energy company. JMI is not a party to such contracts and excludes all liability thereunder including in relation to any supply or failure to supply, any billing or other dispute, connection or reconnection costs, and for any payments to be made in connection with such energy contracts.
Partner must provide all necessary information to JMI for the Energy Void Period Switching Service including property details, move-out and move-in dates, accurate meter readings if available, identity of the account holder or incoming tenants, and any other information necessary for the service, and Partner represents and warrants that it has all necessary rights and consents required to do so.
JMI will store and be a controller of Personal Data (e.g. of the landlord and incoming tenant) that they reasonably require and process in order to provide the Energy Void Period Switching Service.
A.JMI and the Partner shall comply with Data Protection Law to collect, process, and safeguard Personal Data.

A switch is initiated when the energy supplier confirms that the supply contract has been transferred into the name of the Partner or landlord as applicable; and is completed when the energy supplier confirms that the supply contract has been transferred into the name of the incoming tenant and any and all charges for the void period have been paid in full to the supplier.
For Moves where Partner has used the Energy Void Period Switching Service, the energy contract between the incoming Mover and the energy supplier shall not be considered to be a Relevant Contract.
