Our sustainability commitment

Sustainability makes up a huge part of who we are here at Just Move In. We’ve partnered with a number of wonderful organisations to help us make a real difference, and help our customers feel part of it too.

Since 2019, this is what we've achieved

We've funded 80,612 trees

If you use our service, we will plant a tree for you. So if you haven't registered yet, do it for the planet.

Our baby trees turned into 45,142 adult trees

That's because not all tree seedlings make it past the age of 5, for example because of harsh weather, animal grazing or humans. Our solution? Let's work together to plant even more trees.

So far, our trees helped remove 465 tonnes of CO2

That's the same amount as the energy use of 384 homes for a year. Or 251 petrol-powered cars driven for a year. Or if you boiled 77 cups of tea, every day, for two years (that's a lot of tea).

What does it mean to be green?

Looking after the planet is really important to us. We've only got one, so we've made it our number one goal to make home moves much greener. Doing our bit means an awful lot to all our people. That's why we do business in a sustainable way and never forget our impact on the community, too.

Helping us help the planet

Working with our partner Worldview Impact Foundation, we plant a tree for every one of our customers. So you’re not only saving yourself time, hassle and money by using our Home Setup Service; you’re saving the planet as well. For our partnered agencies, we plant a tree for every void energy switch requested through us. Since 2019, we have been supporting restoration projects in Meghalaya, India by planting native cloud forest trees in the Himalayan foothills. We also plant mangrove trees in southeast Myanmar.

Why is it important?

Reforesting areas with native tree species help make an environment more resilient while supporting the local biodiversity and sucking out carbon from the air, of course. Mangrove trees absorb up to 5 times more carbon emissions than any other rainforests, and look after sea life by filtering pollutants, forming a living bio-shield to protect coastal communities from storms and tsunamis. This also means we directly support 3 of the UN Development Goals: Climate Action, Life below Water, and Life on Land.
